 VITAL SUPPORT

by Robert Taylor

Crucial to every squadron in the RAF were the unsung heroes – the ground crew. Without the vital support of these dedicated men who refuelled the aircraft, rearmed them, maintained them and kept them flying, the pilots and aircrew would, quite simply, never have got into the air.

It’s fitting that Robert’s superb drawing has been autographed by TEN Mosquito pilots and aircrew as a personal tribute to the men who supported them so faithfully... find out who signed it HERE!

SEA FURY

by Robert Taylor

Hawker Sea Fury's of 802 Naval Squadron flying from HMS Ocean, engage MiG-15s over Pyongyang during the Korean War, 9th August 1952. Lead by Peter 'Hoagy' Carmichael, four Royal Navy Sea Fury's encountered eight enemy MiG-15s and the intense dogfight resulted in the destruction of one MiG with at least two more damaged.

Originally published in 1985 it was thought at the time that Carmichael scored the first recorded victory of a piston-engine fighter over a jet fighter in the Korean War.

Since then, new research has now credited this victory to one of Carmichael's fellow Royal Navy pilots who was flying with him that day.

Just a few copies available!

With the morning sunlight glinting across the snow-covered landscape, a B-17G Flying Fortress of the 398th BG stands quietly near the perimeter of RAF Nuthampstead, awaiting the thaw that will allow the flying to begin again.

Acknowledging the vital role the brave aircrews of the U.S. 8th Air Force played in securing the Allied success in WWII, this evocative print was released in 2016 having been personally signed by three veterans who flew B-17s with the 8th over Europe.
