Framed Limited Edition by Gerald Coulson

On 18th February 1944 one of the most daring low-level bombing operations of the war was carried out; codenamed ‘Operation Jericho’. Escorted by Typhoons, 19 Mosquitos were tasked with breaching the walls of the Gestapo-held prison in Amiens where hundreds of soldiers of the French Resistance were being held.

Gerald’s memorable piece portrays the moment the first of the delay-action bombs begin to explode as the Mosquitos flee over the flat snowscape. Within seconds the walls will be breached.
