VULCANS ON ASCENSION

Operations Black Buck 1 to 7 were a series of extremely long-range airstrikes carried out by RAF Vulcan bombers with RAF Victor tankers in support operating from the Ascension Islands to bomb the runway and radar facilities at Port Stanley during the Falklands War in 1982, becoming the longest range bombing missions in history at that time.
