Adlertag – Eagle Day – Hitler’s code name for the start of the Luftwaffe’s great and decisive aerial offensive intended to bring the RAF to its knees. This momentous day, 13th August 1940, saw twelve hours of almost continuous battle as the Luftwaffe staged their most concentrated attacks.

Originally released in 1990, Robert's famous print depicts a swarm of Me109s as peel off to attack a bunch of Spitfires which have dived out of the sun upon a large formation of He111s. It’s hardly surprising that the edition sold out soon after publication and has since become one of the most desirable Luftwaffe prints in Robert’s extensive portfolio.

We're delighted to have ONE COPY in stock which has been personally signed by four of the Luftwaffe’s great Battle of Britain fighter leaders and framed to full conservation standards to include a museum-quality reproduction Luftwaffe Breast Eagle.

The signatories amassed a combined total of over 700 victories:

  • Generalleutnant Adolf Galland KC with Oak Leaves Swords and Diamonds
  • Generalleutnant Günther Rall KC with Oak Leaves and Swords
  • Generalmajor Dietrich Hrabak KC WITH OAK LEAVES
  • Generalleutnant Walter Krupinski KC with Oak Leaves
