B-24 Liberators of the 44th Bomb Group pass over Ely Cathedral, Cambridgeshire, after a mission to occupied Europe. The 900-year-old Cathedral, towering above the East Anglian flatlands, was a welcome landmark for the returning US 8th Air Force crews.

This classic work by Robert Taylor pays tribute to the men of the 8th Air Force and in particular the gallant crews of the B-24 Liberator and the contribution they made to the Allies' success in World War II.

Making this rare print even more special is the addition of an original Robert Taylor pencil remarque in the lower margin of the print which has also been personally autographed by TWO highly-regarded B-24 Pilots:

  • General Leon Johnson MOH
  • Major General Ramsay Potts
Media:
Lithograph
