RAF BOMBER COMMAND SIGNING EVENT - 12th January

As a tribute to the brave men who served with RAF Bomber Command during WWII, we are delighted to be hosting some amazing aircrew at the UK Gallery to meet enthusiasts and sign items for collectors.

Our special guests include:

Flight Sergeant TOM ROGERS - joining the RAF in 1943, he completed basic training at RAF Bridlington and then went on to train as an Air Gunner on Lancasters at RAF Bishop’s Court in Northern Ireland. After completing his training he became part of 207 Squadron based at RAF Spilsby. He took part in 27 operations and shot down two German Night Fighters.

Warrant Officer FRANK TOLLEY - as a Bomb Aimer on Lancasters with 625 Sqn he completed a full tour of Ops’ throughout 1944/1945. These included raids on Dresden and Operation Manna which saw food relief dropped into un-liberated western parts of the Netherlands.

Warrant Officer TED KEY - served as a Flight Engineer on Lancasters with 514 Sqn based at RAF Waterbeach.  As Germany surrendered the squadron helped drop food supplies in Holland and carrying liberated POWs back to England.

Warrant Officer HAROLD KIRBY - as a Flight Engineer he originally served with 467 Sqn at Waddington on Lancasters before he and his crew volunteered for Don Bennett's Pathfinder Force. Joining 97 Sqn he completed a full tour of 30 Ops’ as a Pathfinder.

Squadron Leader ALLAN SCOTT DFM - after joining the RAF in March 1941 he was posted to 124 Squadron at Biggin Hill to fly Spitfires. Transferring to 603 Squadron he was shipped aboard HMS Eagle for the defence of Malta, later joining 1435 Squadron on the island, and during the ‘Blitz’ of October 1942, he saw considerable action against Bf109s and Ju88s achieving ‘Ace’ status. Returning to the UK he was an Instructor before joining 122 Squadron in February 1944 for his second combat tour flying P-51 Mustangs throughout D-Day. He then became a test pilot, finishing the war with 6 victories and 2 probables.

Our guests are happy to sign autographs for collectors and items purchased at the event over £60 can be signed free of charge.
