TARGET PEENEMUNDE - Legacy Remarque Edition
North of Berlin on the Baltic coast at Peenemunde lay the secret experimental base for one of Hitler’s most dangerous secret weapons – the V-2 rocket. On the night of 17 August 1943, in one of the most successful raids of the war, Bomber Command made the perilous journey over enemy territory and managed to successfully flatten their target.
This famous print was signed for posterity at the time of release in 1991 by five of the most famous Lancaster aircrew to fly with Bomber Command during WWII, including three recipients of the Victoria Cross:
- Flight Lieutenant Bill Reid VC
- Wing Commander Rod 'Babe' Learoyd VC
