MY BROTHER JIM IRWIN - GICLÉE CANVAS
by Alan Bean
Jim Irwin was assigned as Alan’s backup on Apollo 12. He knew his job extremely well. If anything happened to him at the last minute, Jim would do an excellent job on the mission and fit right in with Pete Conrad and Dick Gordon. Outer Space was dangerous and very hard to work in, the hard work would soon catch up with them for it was only after they got back that they discovered the extent of NASA's concern for them and worry that this situation may have caused permanent damage.
Since Alan left the space program and became an artist, he had thought differently about life. He missed Jim a lot and respected him as the brother he never had, as he knew he always had his back. Because of this, after his passing Alan dedicated this piece to his great friend Jim Irwin. This Artist Proof Giclee has a very rare 3D effect to it as it has the foot print from one of Alan’s boots embedded into the texture of the giclee. This piece has been personally signed and numbered by Alan himself.
