RETURN OF THE HUNTERS
Omaha Beach June 1944
As men and materiel pour ashore from the recently installed, prefabricated ‘Mulberry Harbour A’ at Omaha Beach, a pair of RAF Mk 1b Typhoons from 245 Squadron race back towards their base at Holmesley South in Hampshire, to re-fuel and re-arm. The Typhoon pilots have just delivered a devastating rocket attack on German positions behind the Normandy beachhead. A few days later a violent storm would devastate the harbour below.
Each print has been personally signed by three highly distinguished Pilots who flew Typhoons in support of the Allied invasion of Normandy. Every print is endorsed by the artist and hand-numbered:
- Flying Officer Derek Tapson
- Wing Commander Jerry Eaton DFC
- Flight Lieutenant David Ince
