BREAKOUT FROM NORMANDY

Spitfires of 401 Squadron RCAF prepare to head out on an evening patrol from their forward airstrip, B-4, at Beny-sur-Mer in Normandy, late June 1944.

Anthony’s stunning painting serves as a moving tribute to the brave ‘fighter boys’ who flew in the skies over Normandy as the Allies pushed for victory in the months following D-Day. During this time, 401 Sqn became the top scoring unit of the Second Tactical Air Force claiming 112 aerial victories between 6 June and the end of hostilities.

Measuring an impressive 36” wide x 24” high, we’re sure it won’t be around for long.
