RETURN OF THE BELLE

Battle-hardened B-17 the 'Memphis Belle' returns to Bassingbourne, Cambridgeshire, following another arduous daylight mission over occupied Europe, Autumn 1942.

The ‘Belle’ was the first B-17 in the 91st Bomb Group to complete 25 missions. During that time her Captain, Bob Morgan, never lost a single crew member and his gunners were credited with destroying eight enemy fighters.

At the time of publication in 1991 this iconic piece was considered one the most significant aviation prints to feature the B-17, partly due to the fact that it was signed by all EIGHT surviving crew members including their legendary leader... find out who signed it HERE!
