Battle of Britain ace Flight Lieutenant Ian Gleed leads a detachment of Hurricane Mk1s from 87 Squadron as they scramble from Exeter airfield during the peak of the battle in August 1940. Gleed would be awarded a DFC a few weeks later and given command of 87 Squadron.
