I COULD NEVER BE SO LUCKY AGAIN - Double Remarque Edition
by William S. Phillips
I Could Never Be So Lucky Again was created as a tribute to one of the most remarkable figures of the Second World War: General James H. “Jimmy” Doolittle.
Reflecting on his extraordinary life, Doolittle once remarked, “I would never want to re‑live my life. I could never be so lucky again.”Phillips’ artwork captures a B‑25 bomber sweeping low over the Pacific, with naval vessels scattered across the ocean below—a powerful visual homage to Doolittle’s courage, innovation, and legacy.
This double‑remarque edition by William S. Phillips features two original pencil sketches, adding unique, hand‑drawn detail that makes each example distinctly personal and highly collectible. In this piece, Phillips has included two depictions of the B‑25 Mitchell flown by Lt. Col. James H. Doolittle during the Tokyo Raid, the aircraft he commanded as he led his group of sixteen B‑25s on their historic mission.
