Operating aircraft of the British Royal Navy, the Fleet Air Arm played a significant role throughout WWII. As a tribute to all those who served, we are delighted to have available this unique collector’s piece by one of the foremost pencil artists in the industry.

In his trademark technique of graphite with subtle colour highlights, Richard depicts a Grumman Martlet, the Navy’s version of the American F4F Wildcat, shooting down a Ju88 on Christmas Day 1940 – it was the first ever victory scored in Europe by an American-made aircraft.

‘I would assess the Wildcat as the outstanding naval fighter of the early years of WWII…’
