During the final days of the Battle of Britain Pilot Officer Geoffrey Wellum from 92 Sqn based at Biggin Hill, banks his Spitfire after scoring a direct hit on a Ju88 bomber from KG77 over the Medway Estuary, on a day of heavy Luftwaffe raids against London, 27 September 1940.
Adding great authenticity to this superb release the prints are personally signed by iconic Battle of Britain fighter pilots, including Geoffrey Wellum himself, representing Churchill’s famous ‘Few’ and giving collectors a historic account of Britain’s ‘Finest Hour’.
