THE OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF ANTHONY’S NEW BOOK! We’re delighted to host the official launch of Anthony’s book where we’ll be joined by the artist himself along with outstanding WWII Bomber Command Aircrew to autograph items for collectors. This launch event is the perfect opportunity to personalise your book or add more signatures to create a special collectors item.

Aviation Artist ANTHONY SAUNDERS - Anthony possesses a superb grasp of the speed and power required when portraying scenes of aerial combat and will spend many hours researching every composition to ensure that it is historically and technically correct in every detail. His ability to bring to life breath-taking skyscapes and machines of aerial combat with the rich colours of oil means that Anthony is without doubt one of the industry's most exciting artists and his talents are clear to see in his new book WINGS OF WAR.

Flight Lieutenant SYDNEY GRIMES - completed a full tour as a Wireless Operator with 106 Sqn before joining 617 Sqn for his second tour. He took part in raids against the mighty Tirpitz as well as the Urft Dam, the Bielefeld Viaduct and Ems Canal, completing a total of 60 Ops.

Warrant Officer FRANK TILLEY - after training as a Flight Engineer he volunteered for 617 Sqn taking part in all raids against the Tirpitz, but at the end of 1944 was forced to crash land in Lincolnshire on the return journey from Politz, East Germany after being badly shot up and injured on a mission.

Squadron Leader BENNY GOODMAN - qualifying as a Pilot he initially flew Stirlings before joining 617 Sqn on Lancasters. He completed a full tour of 30 Ops with the unit which included attacks on the Tirpitz, the Arnsberg Viaduct and Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest.

Warrant Officer REG PAYNE - completing training as a WOp/AG he joined 50 Sqn on Lancasters and his pilot was future MRAF, Sir Michael Beetham. With this crew he completed over 30 Ops including 10 to Berlin.

Flight Sergeant LEN MANNING - served as a Rear Gunner on Lancasters with 57 Sqn,  his aircraft was shot down on his 3rd operation on the night of 18/19th July 1944. Baling out, he was hidden by French civilians before returning to Britain injured.

Flight Lieutenant MERVYN INGMIRE DFC - flew as a Rear Gunner and completed 30 Ops on Wellingtons with 115 Sqn in 1942. For his second tour he transferred to 83 Sqn Pathfinder Force on Lancasters and completed over 60 Ops in total.

Warrant Officer FRANK TOLLEY - as a Bomb Aimer on Lancasters with 625 Sqn he completed a full tour of operations throughout 1944/1945. These included raids on Dresden and Operation Manna which saw food relief dropped into un-liberated western parts of the Netherlands.

Warrant Officer ROY BRIGGS - Posted to 576 Sqn at RAF Fiskerton he served as a Wireless Operator on Lancasters. Flying 30 Ops, his missions included raids on Plauen and Bremen before taking part in Operation Manna. As the war ended he transferred to 156 Pathfinder Sqn.
